We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare one of a kind circa 1720 Sideboard sized chest with hand carved cherubs and huge storage Where to begin! This is a real tour de force of style and design not to mention an extremely useful piece of furniture. What we have is an original circa 1720 continental carved coffee or trunk on a later carved oak Stand especially made for the chest. There has been a Campaign handle fitted to the top and hinges so the entire top lifts up to reveal a massive storage area The carving to the front is sublime and looks glorious in any setting, this is a real wow piece of furniture that commands attention from wherever it stands We have lightly cleaned waxed and polished the piece from top to bottom, the base has had all the joints checked and secured, its been worm treated and its correctly restored and ready to go. There will plenty of patina marks from honest age and fair use, the piece is the best part of 300 years old and has all the age related charm you could hope for Dimensions: Height 80cm Width 175cm Depth 69cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
