Abraham Walkowitz Ink Drawing of Ballet Dancer Isadora Duncan in Green
About the Item
A fine drawing in ink and watercolor on paper of the modernist dancer Isadora Duncan by Abraham Walkowitz.
Walkowitz (1878-1965) had an intimate artistic relationship with Duncan. He drew her in dance literally thousands of times.
This image is a free flowing sketch of her in a green dress set on a stage or dance floor. The drawing is colored with a watercolor wash.
As is typical with these drawings, there are a few shallow folds to the paper here and there and slight roughness and losses to the paper edges. The drawing is framed in a modern gold toned frame. We have not observed outside the frame.
