Biography:
His very first painting dates from 1959. His first solo exhibition was held at the Salon Annunciata in Milan in 1960. It was at this time that his artistic career became intense, and from 1966 he regularly participated in the Venice Biennale, Which was dedicated to him in 1980 and 1990. Claudio Olivieri was considered one of the most important representatives of the current of "analytic painting." Light is one of the essential points of his artistic poetics, which since the 1970s , Presents an unusual coherence and continuity in contemporary art: "For Claudio Olivieri, the canvas is the passage from the visible to the invisible," writes Andrea Dall'Asta, whose forms assume an uncertain, floating, suspended character. Paintings will also be exhibited at the Quadriennial of Rome in 1973, Documenta 6 in 1977 and in numerous galleries in Italy and abroad.
