A farm in the background stands out beautifully on a golden sky, a large tree marking the right side of the composition. A few chickens in the front are capturing the light while a couple of workers in the background are occupied with their respective tasks. With its plein-air technique and humble yet poetic subject, this French Barbizon School painting, signed TH.
