The painting is done in the Anglo-Indian style depicting several women watching a female dancing on a carpet, presumably at an outdoor bazaar, with a male musician playing a stringed instrument. The painting is highly detailed showing intricate treatments of the subjects and their respective wardrobes, including the jewelry and even the carpet itself.
