About the Item
Custom design by Studio variously, Tesu Black is a classic lightweight silk scarf can be very well used as a scarf or a wrap. It is made by master shibori artisans in India.
A sustainable design brand based out of Michigan, Studio Variously exclusively collaborates with artisan communities to restore & revive ancient techniques by exploring custom modern designs in textile based products.
The name Tesu is derived from root word Tesuji shibori technique orignated from Japan where Tesu means hand and Suji means stripes. Tight winding the fabric to create stripes pattern, created all by hand. Natural indigo is used to dye the 40 gms silk textile carefully one piece at a time by our skillful artisans in India. The base color of the scarf / wrap is created by using dyes created from Acacia Tree. An effortless classic style statement, this beautiful silk scarf, also a perfect mindful gift, is a pure statement piece that adds modern elegance and timeless quality as an accessory which can be used suitably for personal / workwear or as a travel accessory. The seams of this silk piece are finished to give it a clean modern look.
Eco-friendly dyes, free of toxic chemicals are specifically engineered to ensure longer life for natural yarns used. Classic in design, Tesu Black is one of a kind timeless scarf that is a true sustainable luxury statement piece and also supports artisan communities ethically.

Packaging: Each piece comes with its individual envelope shaped pouch made with canvas cotton and natural wood buttoned closure. This is also made by our artisans to keep the production inclusive. This sustainable packaging also ensures longer life for the handwoven scarf, and makes our custom packaging reusable and breathable.
