About the Item

Geoffrey Beene Linen and Silk Taffeta Ensemble from the 1990's. A 2 piece outfit with simple puff sleeved T shirt top and full gathered skirt. As with all Beene pieces, the detailing is exquisite. Purple floral linen is paired with a tonal silk taffeta in panels down the front and back. Large diamonte buttons at neck and also at large pleated side pockets on skirt. The silk taffeta panels are stiffened with silk organza so the weights of the 2 fabrics are similar and the skirt is able to stay full and bouncy when worn. Antique silk lame ribbon is used as trim on all the seams. Size 8 Vintage. 1990's USA.
