Oscar de la Renta S/S08 bridal ivory strapless vintage ruffle wedding dress gown

About the Item

LOVE LALI Vintage The most beautiful and sort after of gowns from the Spring Summer 2008 bridal collection of Oscar de la Renta To begin with please note that our model is 5,10" (180 cm) and wearing 5" high heels, so on someone shorter this dress would beautifully sweep the floor and have far more of a train as you can see on the picture of Australian model Kristy Hinze when she married Jim Clark wearing this dress in 2009 The colour is an ivory or I would say very pale cream Strapless corseted gown with a pleated bust and sweetheart neckline Full structured skirt composed of 12 layers - several of which are tulle - There is a photograph that shows all the individual layers Inner boned corset that zips up at the back Beautiful ruffles cover the entirety of the skirt Back train which on someone shorter would be far more prevalent Concealed back zip Follow the store on Instagram @bylovelali Composition: No composition label Size: Marked a size US 2 - but please refer to the measurements below Measurements: Bust 30" Waist 24" Length 54.5" from the top of the bust to the bottom front hem Length 75" from the top of the back to the longest point at the back Composition: Although worn this dress is in very good condition and all flaws are completely lost between the layers and ruffles, it does have some to note and is why I have listed it as in 'fair' condition even though worn this is a beautiful vintage wedding dress. Please study the pictures and zoom in, these are unedited and you can fully see how the flaws show. All of these flaws have been pictured closely, so please refer to the annotated pictures to see them in detail - There are tiny holes along the top of the bust line where a body with sleeves was attached by the previous owner and then removed. The bodice could be reworked and the majority but not all could be hidden by folding 0.5 cm of fabric over - There is a small pin sized mark to the front bust - you could rework a pleat to hide this - Repair work has been done to the fabric close to the zip. It seems a small tear was repaired. This area is completely hidden by ruffles and layers that close completely over it, so it is not at all visible and has been beautifully repaired - There are also I believe a few repairs to the ruffles, perhaps there had been a couple of tears - however these are impossible to find, completely hidden and perfectly repaired. You would have to spend a very long amount of time going through each one individually and inspecting it, to spot anything - There are several small and faint stains over the ruffles, again these are pictured. These don't take away from the dress and aren't noticeable as the skirt is composed of many layers and ruffles so they are generally hidden - do study the pictures to see how visible they are - There is extremely faint dirt marks to the edging of the hemline and train - except for one area that is more profound - this is photographed - this area is hidden by ruffles All in all as expected of a vintage gown the dress does have some flaws and has had a couple repairs done by a professional, but they take nothing away from the beauty of the piece when worn and I don't believe are really visible
