Romantic tea gowns from the early 20th century are perennial favorites and this one is a show-stopper. The garment's effortless style is so modern; the fine embroidery and mixed-laces are a treasure trove of needle art. This beauty, made up of four different couture fabric, is also lavishly draped with silk satin and antique appliques. The exacting perfection of the layered skirting is beyond compare, while the sheer long sleeves has a magical allure. We needed to add many detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. This ethereal dress resonates powerfully today, not only because of its intrinsic beauty, but also because it is an important aesthetic artifact from over 100 years ago.

This antique Edwardian custom-made dress is in beautiful wearable condition with no serious damage. The garment slips over the head with metal snaps and hook/eye closures. Original sheer-net bodice lining attached. Only sign of age are a few spots to the back silk sash and some minor tears to the lace. Please message for detailed pictures. A true work of art.
