About the Item

Over the years we've had a number of sequin tulle tabard dresses from the late 1900s-early 1920s. A simple design embellished in different designs and sewn with gelatin sequins of many colours, they really sparkle, but keep them away from water because they melt. Something I've never had before is a carefully cut & pieced dress that is strong enough to wear! Whoever did this, did a wonderful job. Capturing true 20s style, they have created a dress any flapper would have been happy to wear. Pull on dress of black tulle with black & glittery blue sequins. V neck front wrap effect & V back. the dress falls straight in a classic chemise. The lower side has a curved open drape at the side. The dress has been carefully lined in sheer black chiffon, it is sewn to the tulle & drapes perfectly. They have added a strand of round black beads at the draped side. The blue sequins have a flame design reaching up, at the mid skirt. At the lower front there are what look like fireworks. The fits like a modern size 2- 4. There are a few missing sequins here & there but they are not noticeable. Please message us with any questions you might have, or other photo angles not already provided you might require. The dress is sturdy & wearable with care. Unfortunately clothing from the early 20th century is not returnable. In excellent wearable condition. All our clothing is inspected for condition and is ready to wear. Any condition issues will be noted. For visual comparison our mannequin is a size 4.
