1940s Silk & Sequin Flower Swing Dress

Buyer Protection Guaranteed

What a glorious 1940s swing dress! Made out of a black silk crepe that drapes wonderfully when on. It has that touch of thirties influence still with a slightly wider cut through the bodice and looser drape which makes it very flattering. The skirt is long and lean with a flat pleat detail high on one hip to give the suggestion of a swag and also to add to the illusion of a nipped in wast. Of course the showstopper on this dress is that spectacular flower that runs across the bodice and is done completely with hand applied sequins in greens, pinks ands silvers. The design is spectacular! This dress is everything you want in a 1940s piece and is a real jaw dropper. Excellent condition

Bust: approx 20” flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 14” flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: to 21" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 17" from top of bust to waist
Skirt: 29" from waist to hem

Unlined and closes with a side unpainted metal zipper and a fabric covered button and loop at the back of the neck. Lightly padded shoulders original to the dress. The sequin work is hand done and that can be clearly seen on the backside of the fabric! Remember that these are not meant to fit skin tight - if you are smaller it will draped nicely and you can belt it as well to get more of an hourglass silhouette
