Timeless Vixen is pleased to offer this iconic gown from the Christian Dior collection of 1961. The House of Dior has been an enduring icon of Haute-Couture. While the House of Dior is still a thriving business today, Dior's untimely death in 1957 left the fashion world without a great dictator of style. Christian Dior designed under his own name for only a decade, but his influence is everlasting. When the talented Marc Bohan took over as head designer, he continued the Dior tradition of elegant design and this beautiful garment is a wonderful example. The garment is fashioned in a stunning champagne pink, fully lined, mid-weight silk. It is easy to see the level of quality in this piece with the original boned corset and hand finishings. The shelf-bust bodice has an elegant one-shoulder optional design and stunning rosette applique. I adore the side-draped goddess colum skirt which finishes this gown off with the perfect ethereal look. As Dior once said, "Elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity." This couture treasure is a wonderful mix of these elements. Measurements Bust:32-33 inches Waist:26 inches Hips:up to 38 inches Total Length:60 inches This rare Christian Dior Paris numbered 112241 gown is in good condition with rips or holes. The workmanship is immaculate and all hand-finished. Perfectly working duel Eclair metal-zippers in place. As shown, the bottom skirt and side arm-hole have watermarks, causing slight color unevenness. Please message for more detail pictures. Due to the historic nature of the garment, cleaning left to the purchaser. Priced accordingly. An investment piece that will only continue to increase in value.
