About the Item

1960's black nude illusion cocktail dress designed for Lord & Taylor. The dress zips and hooks at the back with a striated organza bodice accented by ruffles at the collar and cuffs. It has a built-in black velvet bow at the waist and a beautiful lace skirt lined in light netting and silk. The bodice is lined in a flesh tone organza creating a 'nude illusion' effect. It is a great combination of demure and sassy in the same frock! CONDITION Good to fair vintage condition with some wear primarily to the striated organza bodice. There are a few pinholes as shown in photographs 14 and 15. There is a 1/2" tear on the ruffle at the back of the collar and some additional weakness to the fabric nearby, please see photograph 16. This sweet dress would be best for those that do not mind a little 'patina' to their vintage. It has been professionally cleaned and is ready for wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The size is not marked though the dress best fits U.S. sizes 2 - 4 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
