This breathtaking early 1960's Carven cocktail full-skirted cocktail dress, in the most beautiful silhouette, is pure couture perfection. Carven’s exquisite taste and enviable lifestyle became the background of her designs and a means of promotion. The House of Carven also had great success starting in the late 1950's overseas, in territories such as Egypt, Brazil and particularly the Far East. The designs represented the epitome of French chic, while providing a better and conscientiously flattering, fit for smaller proportioned figures. Carven was in the racks of such designs as Christian Dior and Chanel. Marcel Fenez produced a rare demi-couture line for Carven in the early 1960's and this gorgeous dress was one of the exquisite looks which clearly mirrors the iconic 1955 Jean Desses creation. Our beautiful Carven garment has everything a woman wants. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; double layered seafoam green lined silk crepe. I love the unique 3-dimensional ribbon weave bodice with chic thin straps. The flattering nipped-waist with full swing skirt finish this garment off with a wonderful 'New Look' style. A timeless classic for an modern event! Measurements Bust: 33-34 inches Waist: 26 inches Hips: Swing Sweep Total Length: 42 inches This stunning Carven demi-couture cocktail party dress is in beautiful condition with no rips or holes. The inside is immaculate and all hand-finished. Perfectly working back metal-zipper. Only sign of age is some scattering spots of discolor to the chiffon which are not noticeable when worn.
