Antique Moroccan Jobbana Ceramic Lidded Butter Pot

About the Item

Antique Moroccan 'Jobbana' ceramic lidded butter pot glazed with blue, turquoise and orange with black patterned outlines on a white ground decoration with ornate etched white metal, copper and brass mounts with beaded rims around the edges, the cover with a fully metal clad domed finial. The pot has some feint blue marks to the base, probably streaks of paint. The pot is offered in excellent condition with natural age crazing to the inner glazed finish and with some minor chipping around the inside rim of the cover from use. This natural wear is quite common and is hidden under the metal mounts and mentioned for accuracy. Moroccan, handcrafted by Artisans in Fez.
