Nineteenth-century Manton box lid, Canton China, featuring black and red lacquer. Hand-painted central decoration showcases two gold characters in a Chinese garden against a black background. With polychrome wear, revealing some small nails on the front. Despite this, it remains a charming original hand-painted artwork.
