Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse and Rider, TL Tested
About the Item
A charming Tang dynasty painted pottery figure of a horse and mounted noble rider. TL tested by Oxford Authentication.
The horse portrayed standing foursquare, head down and relaxed. The rider sits erect in the saddle, head slightly turned as if looking at something or someone. The hat he wears indicative of his social standing. His raised arms would originally have held reigns, which have long since disintegrated.
