19th Century Greyish Celadon Glazed Chinese Porcelain Vase

About the Item

A simple and elegant well shaped Celadon vase manufactured in China in the late 19th century, the vase is covered overall with a crackled grey celadon glaze. The glaze it's smooth and even, with a slight sheen that catches the light, neck is flanked by two handles. Celadon is a type of glaze that is usually green or blue-green in color, but can also be grey or beige. It was first developed in China during the Song Dynasty started in 960 and finished in 1279 and was highly prized for its unique color and the way it enhanced the texture of the porcelain, was often used to decorate vases, bowls, and other ceramics. A grey celadon glazed Chinese porcelain vase from the 19th century is a beautiful and valuable piece of art, the 19th century was a period of great artistic production in China, and many beautiful porcelain pieces were made during this time.
