Antique Chinese Brown / Black Glazed Pickling Jar, c. 1900

About the Item

This Antique Jar dating to the early 1900s once served the purpose of pickling foods. The jar features a wonderful mixed brown / black glaze as well as engraved characters near its mouth. The jar has a large mid sections that narrows towards its base providing an elegant form. Its markings and fading of the glaze over the many decades add to its appeal. A wonderful example of Chinese handcrafted pottery.
