Antique Chinese enamel porcelain snuff bottle, Jingdezhen kilns, of wide cylindrical form with a high shoulder and narrow straight neck, carnelian stopper and organic material spoon, The bottle with a slightly flared lip highlighted in gold decorated in iron red within the porcelain body reserves on a black background depicting a night scene departure of a sage and his wife on horseback crossing a bridge followed by three attendants and a dog, the raised and trimmed foot having a counter sunk glazed base with a Daoguang four-character mark in iron red and of the period, 1821-1850. 7cm. / 2-3/4 inches high. 38g. / 1-1/4oz. (‘Made in the Daoguang era’). Imperial kilns, Jingdezhen, 1820-1860 Height: 6.8 cm Mouth/lip: 0.85/1.48 cm Stopper: stained bone carved as a coiled chi dragon; stained walrus-ivory collar.
