Chinese Blue & White Tea Jar General Taming Qilin, Kangxi Mark, ROC Early 20c

About the Item

This petite Chinese tea jar is a remarkable example of blue and white porcelain craftsmanship. Standing at a height of 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm), the ovoid form jar features a captivating design that includes a majestic Qilin (Kirin) and a General, both intricately rendered in underglaze blue. The General is depicted with a Flaming Pearl, a symbol often associated with spiritual energy and wisdom. The Qilin, a traditional symbol of protection and strength, adds an element of power and majesty to the piece. The jar's recessed base is adorned with a six-character Kangxi mark, enclosed within double rings, also in underglaze blue. This mark not only authenticates the piece but also places it within a specific historical context, adding to its collectible value. The jar's compact size and detailed artistry make it a highly desirable item for collectors of fine Chinese porcelain. Circa 1920, R.O.C. Period, Early 20th Century
