Chinese Blanc de Chine statues of
Guan Yin
Republic period of China.
The goddesses are dressed in flowing robes standing on an intricate lotus and foliage base with a lotus flower in her hands.
Guan Yin is the goddess of mercy in the Buddhism. Blanc de Chine, or white from China, is the name given to white porcelains made in Dehua, a town in Fujian province along China's southeast coast. The special characteristic of Dehua porcelain is the very small amount of iron oxide in it, allowing it to be fired in an oxidizing atmosphere to a warm white or pale ivory color.
Condition: In good condition commensurate with age. Statues were previously converted into lamps, drilled bottoms and traces of the old glue to the bottom therefore they are ready to be lamps if you prefer to use in that way.
In the interest of interior designers as they can be used in two ways, as a statues or lamps and condition is perfect.
