Japanese Kutani Vase with Camellia Design by Yoshiaki Yamada
About the Item
A remarkable, delicately hand-painted Kutani porcelain vase with a decoration of camellia blooms, with original paulownia storage box, signed, by Yoshiaki Yamada. Kutani ware has a long history dating back to the Edo period, over 350 years ago. It was featured in the 1873 World Exposition and gained international fame and an export market. This piece is a high quality example of the art, with an asymetrical design giving it a different aspect with every angle.
