Large Chinese Qing Yellow Glazed Black Floral Porcelain Jardiniere

About the Item

Here is a rare yellow ground black floral porcelain jardiniere from late Qing period. This entire jardiniere has yellow ground with black ink like floral paintings. A very large globular body with white enamel glazed interior. It has some normal wear and tear on the bottom foot, but there is no crack or any repair. It has a red marking "Ti He Dian Zhi" near the top rim. "Ti He Dian" was the dining hall of Empress Dowager Cixi in Forbidden City. Empress Dowager Cixi, of the Manchu Yehe Nara clan, was a Chinese noblewoman, concubine and later regent who effectively controlled the Chinese government in the late Qing dynasty for 47 years, from 1861 until her death in 1908. This jardiniere overall measures 21 inch or 53cm in diameter and 17.5 inch or 44.5cm tall.
