About the Item

A set of 3 Japanese porcelain Kenjo-Imari Dishes, Japan Edo Period, 18th century. 3 Imari octagonal porcelain dishes. Underglaze cobalt blue, enamels and gold. The decoration in the central white panel is in the form of a basket painted in underglaze blue. The basket contains flowers in iron red and gold with green leaves. The central panel is inside an eight panel grid that contains four repeating panels of flowers and four scrolls in in under glaze blue. The underside is nicely decorated with 8 red and blue painted circles. Six character Japanese mark (Dai Ming Man Reki Nen Sei) which is the Japanese version of the Chinese Ming Dynasty mark for Emperor Wanli 1573-1620 inside a large double ring. There are also 5 support scars on the underside. Very good condition. One micro chipon one visible on picture. Date: Edo period circa 1720 - 1730 Diameter: 22,5cm h 2,5cm
