19th C. Monumental & Important Qing Dynasty Chinese Double Sided Sideboard

About the Item

Chinese Origin, 19th century or earlier. An exceptional 19th century or earlier Qing Dynasty wooden buffet or sideboard likely made in possibly rosewood or elmwood. This piece is extremely heavy and features not only 5 frieze drawers to the upper margin of both sides, but three below cupboards flanked by 3 smaller drawers on each side. The interior of each cupboard opens to reveal an interior shelf. One cupboard opens to reveal Chinese characters that speak of door reconstruction in 1909 for an important Chinese family. Sideboards of this caliber do not show up often, in fact, while researching this important piece I was unable to find another this large and double sided. More photographs and in-person viewing possible by request.
