Antique Korean Chest with Butterfly Pattern Brass Hardware from the 19th Century
About the Item
A 19th century chest with butterfly pattern brass hardware from Korea. This antique Korean chest with butterfly pattern brass hardware carries a beautiful patina and a well-adorned front with two doors surrounded on the sides and below by various panels and above by four drawers. The panels on this piece display gorgeous wood grain effects with an elegant contrast between dark and light woods. Brass hardware is used for the lock, the hinges and the lining pieces. The lock and the hinges adopt a pleasant butterfly shape, as do the handles of the drawers. This antique 19th century chest with butterfly pattern from Korea would be an exotic addition to most homes, and would be an uncommon storage unit, perhaps in a den for documents and books, or in a living room holding family mementos.
