Antler Chair designed by Junzo Sakakura Architectural Office for Tendo Mokko

About the Item

The Antler Chair was designed by Junzo Sakakura Architectural Research Institute in 1966. It is a long-selling masterpiece chair that is still being made today. This is a rare monopod that uses a teak veneer for the frame, which is not available in current products. The backrest and seat are integrated, so you can sit with the correct posture that fits the Japanese body. The backrest is relatively raised, so rather than being able to sit comfortably, the impression is that you can sit in a good posture and not get tired even for a long time. The characteristic leg design (deer's branched horns = antler) is the origin of the name of this chair. Japan's first racket structure (composition processing) is used for the legs and arms that are integrated, and the high level of technology and attention to design are packed. The original off-white vinyl leather fabric remains.
