Ark in Camphor painted Technique - XIX Century - China

About the Item

This chest or Ark depending on the use and function predetermined by the previous owners, boast an ellaborate and beautiful color pigments painted on the leather that covers the wooden frame finished with brass armory and nails. Mostly of Chinese Influence due to the use of Camphor woodwork that reveals the fit and finish that still is preserved on todays age - on an article dating back from early 1800s. The silk lining once had inside was removed due to being perished, but the future owner can decide if would like it plaint or covered again on silk or another fabric of his choice.
