Early 19th Century Wooden Carved Indian Temple Doors - a Pair

About the Item

The intricate detail carving work decorating this ornate Indian temple door makes it a unique collector’s item. The wood frame is delicately carved with rows of individually turned pieces of wood accenting the transom. This unique teak door from South India is a very difficult piece to find as the metal and wood is often lost or broken over time. We believe it may be from an Indian Synagogue due to the star of david so clearly marked on the exterior. This wooden door from India is between over 100 years old. This door combines strength for security along with artistry for beauty and devotion. This piece will add such charm to any room and be the center of attention. Use it as a function door + install tracks to hold it up, or simply rest them against the wall as a decorative piece of unique art. It is offered in its original antique condition. Original Hooks for track installation have been left on the door - see subtle metal placket on the top of each door.
