Juan Azcue's career as a designer had two major stages: a first that emulates classic styles with the virtuosity that characterized him all his life. And the next one, in which Juan dares the challenge of giving a true channel to his talent.
His furniture combines solitary observation of the natural world, experimentation with different types of wood with that manual and joyful quality that children's play has. This furniture also betrays the fascination for the avant-garde movements that Juan Azcue, recently arrived in the big city, discovers and in which he eagerly immerses himself, because they were art, culture and bohemia that his aesthetic drive demanded of him. Finally, if one sharpens one's gaze by studying these creations, he also understands that the choices of light and shadow in the gallery and the primitive forms of the rural world were as decisive in his creative imprint as were his subsequent formal studies.
