Vintage Burmese Betel Box “Kun-It”

Vintage Burmese Betel Box “Kun-It”, a cylindrical woven container with a deep lid and shallow interior tray, all covered in layers of red black and yellow lacquer having incised decoration in reserves depicting dancers within scrolling foliate vine borders. Minor cracks and nicks to the outer surface, the interior tray with edge losses, otherwise good condition with signs of wear and use. 8 inches high x 8.2 inches in diameter (20.4 x 20.7cm) 1 lb. 12 oz. (794g.) Circa 1950.
