Antique Large Burmese Hsun-ok

About the Item

Antique Large Burmese Hsun-ok, a ceremonial food offering box to present to a monastery, a covered cylindrical stupa box form decorated in Mandalay style with mirrored glass, raised thayo lacquer in a foliate scroll design and gold leaf ornamentation, the bottom of a wide and deep curved bowl with a waisted pedestal base made of carved and turned wood, the lid resembling a stupa tapers up to to a hintha bird perched on top, all lacquered brick red, Signs of wear and use, losses and restorations, overall fine condition. 36 inches high x 17.25 inches in diameter. 11 lbs. (4990 g.) Konbaung period (1752-1885)
