About the Item

20th century Chinese Archaic style bronze wine vessel vase & stand China, Circa 20th century, Probably 1960s A fine vintage Intricately cast from solid bronze well executed example, this type of vase was originally commissioned for high-ranking Chinese nobility to use during ritual offerings to their ancestors more than 3,000 years ago. The decoration on each of the four sides of the faceted vessel is arranged in horizontal registers divided by vertical notched flanges which are repeated at the corners. This is a large scale, very heavy fine work. This vase is marked with a horary reign mark. Complete with a custom fitted carved hardwood stand. Overall measurements: Vase and stand 18-inches high x 9-inches wide x 6-inches deep Bronze vase alone Vase and stand 16-inches high x 9-inches wide x 6-inches deep Hardwood carved stand alone Vase and stand 2.5-inches high x 8-inches wide x 6-inches deep.
