Antique Japanese Cloisonne Yellow Enamel Butterfly Plate

About the Item

An antique Japanese Meiji era decorative enamel plate. The plate is adorned with a polychrome image of butterflies in blossoming flower on a bright yellow ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The border features a geometrical motif made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with scaly, foliate scroll, and geometrical ornaments made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
