About the Item

18th century Turkish copper bucket with elaborate etched designs covering the surface. A wonderful shape with the wide bulbous bottom tapering up elegantly. The solid copper loop handle with also decorated, ending in serpent heads. The copper body of the bucket was originally coated in tin, now worn off from years of use, it has a fine patina of age. Three rows of etched cartouches with stylized rabbits and other animals with geometric and floral decoration separating them. This is a wonderful artifact that I held in my personal collection for years. It makes a great vase for dry flowers. 14 inches diameter, 13 high to lip, 20.5 to top of handle. Ex Col: Peter Pellettieri, artist and teacher, Mr. Pellettieri was a connoisseur and collector of early European art and antiquities.
