This is a pair of antique figural andirons. A French, bronze decorative fireside tool rest with female form in country house taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1850. Strikingly decorative fireside interest with fine tonality Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order Substantial bronze shows wonderfully weathered hues Rear rests also crafted in bronze, an unusual choice Superb female figure, holding a long bow and a quiver in the other hand Flowing hair and gown detail presents well Rest has a depth of 16cm for supporting smaller grates Good weight in the hand at 3.19kg and 3kg respectively This is a delightful pair of antique figural andirons, graced with charming country house appeal.
