About the Item

A delightful vintage Chinese cloisonne enamel, copper, and brass tripod censer with pierced cover, circa 1970's, China. A delightful pair of brass handles formed as stylized archaistic tigers have been applied to the sides. The domed cover pierced with stylized lotus blossoms, with a finial featuring a stylized horned chilong, with teeth bared and its sinuous body coiled around itself. The censer decorated all over in cloisonne enamels with stylized lotus blossoms in red, blue, white and yellow against a bright turquoise ground. A ruyi border to the top of the censer and the bottom of the cover. The rims of copper cast with a leiwen meander border.
