About the Item

Impressive Japanese style Showa period six-panel byobu screen featuring a serene Chinese mountain landscape along a waterway over a dramatic gilt background. The painting is accompanied by a long poetic colophon in Chinese signed by the calligrapher. Ink pigments on gilt paper and set in a black lacquered frame. The large painting shows well with intricate details. The work is possibly Korean made during the Japanese occupation from 1910-1945. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA.
