Japanese two-panel screen: gibbons in the wild, masterfully executed ink painting (sumi-e) of two gibbons in an old tree. Wonderful examples of brushwork and different painting techniques. Meiji period (1868-1912) painting in ink on silk, with a gold border, black gloss lacquer frame and fabric backing. Fresh mounting. Signature reads: Kishi Beizan. Pair available.
