Antique Chinese Porcelain Famille Rose Snuff Bottle Pagoda Qing Jiaqing Mark 19c

About the Item

This fine Chinese porcelain snuff bottle from the Qing Dynasty's Jiaqing period is of a tapered rectangular form, a shape that combines elegance with a sense of sturdiness. The top and sides of the bottle are adorned with underglaze blue decorations of stylized blossoms, a design that is both delicate and traditional. The use of underglaze blue provides a deep, rich color that beautifully contrasts with the famille rose decorations. The bottle features exquisitely painted scenes in famille rose, a palette known for its soft, pastel hues. On one side, there is a detailed depiction of figures in a ceremonial scene, capturing a moment of cultural significance and social interaction. The other side portrays figures in a pagoda landscape scene, a serene and picturesque depiction that evokes the beauty of Chinese landscapes and architecture. The bottle is elegantly raised on a flat footring, enhancing its display and adding to its refined appearance. The base of the bottle bears a four-character Qing Jiaqing mark in iron red, confirming its period authenticity and adding to its collectible value. Completing this exquisite piece is a light green jadeite stopper, which not only complements the bottle aesthetically but also adds a touch of luxury and refinement. This porcelain snuff bottle, with its combination of underglaze blue and famille rose decorations, detailed scenes, and historical markings, is a testament to the sophisticated artistry of the Jiaqing period. circa: Qing Dynasty Jiaqing period (1800-1820), early 19th Century
