About the Item
A large and impressive Chinese carved and stained hardwood display stand in the form of a stylized chrysanthemum, mid 20th century or earlier, China.
The large display stand of impressive size and dramatic form. Formed in two tiers and carved and pierced from a well figured stained hardwood, the lower tier features bold stylized chrysanthemum petals in alternating upward/downward positions. The upper tier with further stylized openwork petals with a slight upward curve. The center of slightly convex form with a central raised design carved as the underside of a chrysanthemum blossom. The two tiers are separated by waisted center.
The stand is a work of art in its own right, and is impressive enough to be displayed on its own. However, when paired with the right charger or vase, it certainly adds a sense of importance and grandeur.

- Condition:Repaired: With signs of glue repairs, including some cracks and joints. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. With some minor splits to the wood and scattered repairs and glued joints. The stain uneven in some sections with spotting and discoloration. Please see photos.
