Chinese Literati Tea Tray, circa 1900
About the Item
This petite late 19th century tray reflects the Qing-dynasty literati's taste for fine materials and balanced proportions. Once used to serve tea or hold scholarly implements, the tray is beautifully carved of a fine-grained hardwood to resemble a twill plait bordered by beaded scrollwork. We love this little tray as the perfect place to rest jewelry, glasses, or other small objects.
