Chinese Scholars' Lingbi Stone

About

Chinese connoisseurs valued Lingbi stones for their natural beauty. They preferred rocks that showed four features: perforations (lou), thinness (shou), openness (tou), and wrinkling (zhou). This stone is from Shanxi Province and has a custom wood base. It probably once sat on the desk of a scholar who'd use it to help focus while composing poetry, painting, or writing calligraphy.
