On offer is a tall Taihu scholar rock in a mushroom-cloud form displayed on a custom carved wood stand. Wonderful and well-balanced, the stone is of an uncommon waxy deep yellow color with black and white mineral deposits mixed into the texture. Being exposed to the flowing water for millennium, the surface has been polished and weathered, and is now mostly smooth yet still maintains some slightly rugged edges and points at places. Many grottoes puncture and permeate the piece, interlinking and window-like, creating interesting positive and negative spaces for a meditative mind. A remarkable work of art created by mother nature.
Stones such as this from Taihu lake was among the four famous stones since ancient time in China. They have been collected and prized by Chinese scholars since Tang dynasty when using them in garden came in vogue. Old neolithic jades are handmade and hand abraided and hand polished using tools of the time: bamboo, stone, water and stone dust
This jade like others were cut and fashioned hand abraided using natural organic string made from vegetation combined with sand paste and water- these were the tools used to abraid and cut hard jade stone. In addition this bi displays a beautiful calcified mineralization from being buried underground for thousands of years.

About Pig Dragons:
A pig dragon or zhulóng is a type of jade artifact first introduced from the Hongshan culture of neolithic China. Pig dragons are zoomorphic forms with a pig-like head and elongated limbless body coiled around to the head and described as "suggestively fetal". Early pig dragons are thick and stubby, and later examples have more graceful, snakelike bodies. Pig bones have been found interred alongside humans at Hongshan burial sites, suggesting that the animal had some ritual significance. There is some speculation that the pig dragon is the first representation of the Chinese dragon.
