Chinese Soapstone Monkey Group Ca 1800

About the Item

A rare museum quality large soapstone group , dating circa 1780 - 1800 . Expertly carved from one piece of stone and beautifully detailed . Seven Monkeys scrambling over one another for a peach , finely engraved fur with eyes painted black . This piece is in Good antique condition with no losses . Age related marks and natural surface cracks to be expected on antique soapstone. 34 cm High
