Set of Four 19th-Century Alabaster Bird Sculptures, China
About the Item
Set of four sculptures depicting small birds resting on top of a rectangular base, made of alabaster with brown quartz eyes. Their manufacture can be dated to the mid-nineteenth century and are of Chinese provenance.
The four sculptures are the same in shape and size, but the individual piece is distinguished by different veining and shading of the alabaster stone.
The state of preservation is generally good, slight minor dents given by time are present.
The measurements of the individual piece are 13.5 x 10.5 x 5 cm.
