A 19th Century Turkish ottoman period kaftan
Height 136cm, width 159cm
This antique kaftan dates from the Ottoman period in Turkey during the 19th Century, and will make an excellent addition to an antique clothing collection as well as a fine gift. Similar examples to this one are in the Topkapi Palace Museum in Istanbul.
Kaftans in the early 19th Century were designed to be worn over a robe, and were usually open in form. This sage green, purple, and yellow kaftan is embroidered with block metal stripes and comes open. It has sleeves and will fit a range of sizes.
