Japanese Vintage Reins, Wabi Sabi, 19th Century

About the Item

This is an antique horse reins made from ramie fabric dyed with indigo and produced at the Tohoku region of Japan. Dating back to the Edo period, this antique object will not only enhance your collection but also add variety and liveliness to your decor and interior space. The length of the piece allows for your creativity. It can serve as a wall decoration, frame your ceiling, or become an independent art piece integrated with other items. It can also be easily rolled up, serving as a partially unrolled scroll on your table or shelf. The color fades and patina gives the piece a sense of history, making it especially captivating to view, especially when illuminated by natural light.
