Rare and Beautiful Japanese Chirimen Silk Fabric Sampler ‘4th of 4’

About the Item

There are 17 exquisite designs in a 230 inch (19' 2") continuous roll. The samples would be used by the maker for a client to select a design for a custom kimono. The generous size of the sample-design enabled the client to envision the finished product. The maker's stamp is signed at the bottom of the sampler. The 17 designs are all vary in height in this sampler. If you would like to know those sizes, please message me through 1stDibs. The width is the same on all samples at 12 3/4 inch wide. This sampler is fabulous and will be stunning in a "Wall Art Quilt". This is the 4th of four smaples that I have posted on 1stDibs, from the collection that I have acquired. All 17 designs can be viewed by clicking on images and scrolling-down to maker's stamp (at bottom). The images are high-resolution photographs for close-up viewing. Mid-Twentieth Century / Showa Period 1940’s/50’s I was delighted to acquire this collection in excellent condition from a collector. No holes or tears. "Collector Quality" - a lovely piece !
